Surrounding women undergoing cancer treatment with a supportive community.

My Sister’s Keeper (MySKCle) derived from a survivor of breast cancer who transformed her pain into a purpose.

This is the story of our Founder, Sherri White.

Sherri, at the age of 32 was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Like many, she started planning for the worst to happen - getting finances together for her children, policies, etc.   She dealt with her diagnosis internally and independently.  She underwent multiple surgeries and chemotherapy.  With the support of her family and friends, Sherri began rewriting her cancer story and started to live.

As a result of the community of support that formed around her, she developed a passion to help other women during their cancer journey.   This path led to the development of My Sister's Keeper which was incorporated in 2018.

Today, with the help of a dedicated Board of Directors, volunteers and a community of supporters, My Sister's Keeper has expanded services and programs to help women diagnosed with any form of cancer.   In addition, services offered has grown beyond the state of Ohio as we currently support women in Kentucky, Texas, and Chicago.  Our boutique of services continues to expand that helps to revitalize the spirit of womanhood and community.

The following are recurring events that contribute to the success of our organization:

  • A Walk in Her Shoes - Annual Community Awareness Walk

  • Pretty in Pink

  • Reviving Prayer Circle - Weekly Prayer Forum

  • My Sister's Circle - Educational Forum

We understand the hardship that is endured by women undergoing cancer treatment.  In 2021, we were able to provide temporary employment that allowed for a woman to continue to earn a source of income to provide for her family while also being able to heal.  We hope to continue to expand this service in the years to come.

MySKCle is appreciative to our community partners who believe in our mission.   We are funded by way of generous donations and approximately 100% of our financial resources support the services we provide.

MISSION: To surround women undergoing cancer treatment with a supportive community.
