About the presenter:

Demetria White – Healthcare Revenue Cycle and Community Advocate

With over two decades of robust experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, Demetria has honed a reputation for excellence within some of the most renowned healthcare institutions in Ohio. Her career, marked by progressive leadership roles, began in earnest at Cleveland Clinic, where she developed her skills as a Reimbursement Specialist. In this foundational role, Demetria's acute focus on accounts receivable management and her work in optimizing reimbursement processes laid the groundwork for her future endeavors.

Her journey through the healthcare system's financial veins saw her take on pivotal roles, such as the Financial Counselor and Account Representative positions, where she ensured the integrity of billing processes and educated staff and patients alike on the nuances of insurance and financial responsibility. These roles underscored her dedication to not just the operational aspect of healthcare but also to the human element – providing clarity and support to those navigating the complex world of medical finances.

Demetria's expertise eventually led her to the University Hospitals of Cleveland, where her strategic vision as a Senior Patient Access/Office Coordinator was instrumental in rebuilding the financial stability of the Reproductive Endocrinology Division. Here, she transitioned from focusing solely on financial and reimbursement procedures to managing the full spectrum of daily administrative functions with a keen eye for process improvement and staff development.

Promoted to manage Electronic Revenue Optimization at University Hospitals, Demetria excelled in roles that required an eagle eye for detail and a strategic mindset. Her work as a Manager and Senior Revenue Integrity & Compliance Analyst involved collaborating with group leaders to enhance revenue cycle billing processes, providing key developmental training, and driving project work that cemented her status as an indispensable leader in the field.

Outside the confines of healthcare administration, Demetria channels her passion for community service through her work as a spokesperson for My Sister's Keeper, an advocacy organization dedicated to empowering women. Additionally, she oversees projects and events like "Pretty in Pink," which not only celebrate and support women's health issues but also serve as platforms for outreach, education, and fundraising.

With a solid foundation in managing healthcare revenue cycles and a heartfelt commitment to community advocacy, Demetria's career is a testament to her dual dedication to professional excellence and social responsibility.
