LaVada Tillie
Director, Health & Wellness
LaVada Tillie is a dedicated healthcare professional and community advocate, serving as the Director of Health & Wellness for My Sister’s Keeper, a nonprofit organization that provides critical support and services to women with cancer. In this role, LaVada spearheads transformative initiatives that foster holistic health and wellness, including co-founding the Reviving Prayer Circle, which offers spiritual and emotional support to women facing cancer. She also leads My Sister’s Circle, an innovative virtual platform that connects women with healthcare professionals to provide crucial insights on cancer prevention, treatment, and overall wellness.
A dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife, LaVada brings a wealth of experience from diverse areas of healthcare, including Nurse Education, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Labor and Delivery. Her passion for patient-centered care and community health is evident through her leadership at My Sister’s Keeper, where she continually works to empower women through knowledge, care, and spiritual connection.
Beyond her work with My Sister’s Keeper, LaVada is a member of numerous professional organizations that reflect her commitment to service. She serves as Vice President of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated, and as Secretary of the Black Nurses Society Cleveland, both of which are instrumental in community outreach and health initiatives. She also plays a key role in Forever And A Day (F.A.A.D.), a nonprofit supporting families who have experienced the loss of a child, where she serves as Director of Health and Wellness.
LaVada’s personal life is equally rooted in family and community. She is a proud mother of two sons: her eldest, Marty, is a former Army Infantry soldier, and her youngest, a 12-year-old black belt in Taekwondo, continues to pursue excellence in both academics and martial arts.
Driven by her passion for helping others and creating lasting impact, LaVada is a true champion of health, wellness, and empowerment. Through her leadership, she remains committed to providing compassionate care, fostering strong relationships, and advocating for the health and well-being of women and families in her community.
