Treasurer
Executive Board
The Treasurer is a key member of the Executive Board of My Sister's Keeper-Cleveland, responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial management and ensuring transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility. This role involves managing budgets, tracking financial performance, and providing regular reports to the Board of Directors to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight and Management
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.
Monitor the organization’s income and expenses, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
Manage bank accounts and oversee cash flow to maintain the organization’s financial stability.
Budgeting and Reporting
Develop and present an annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Provide regular financial reports to the board, including statements of income, expenses, and cash flow.
Assist in preparing and presenting financial updates during board meetings.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure timely filing of all necessary tax documents and reports to maintain the organization’s 501(c)(3) status.
Monitor and enforce adherence to financial policies and procedures as outlined in the organization’s bylaws.
Assist in the preparation and facilitation of financial audits or reviews as needed.
Fundraising Support
Work closely with the fundraising team to ensure accurate tracking of donations, sponsorships, and event revenues.
Provide financial input to support fundraising campaigns and grant applications.
Policy and Process Development
Develop and recommend improvements to financial processes and policies to ensure efficiency and accountability.
Provide training or guidance to board members and staff on financial protocols as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in financial management, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field. Nonprofit experience is a plus.
Skills:Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency with financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks) and spreadsheets.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Actively participate in at least one board committee and support five My Sister's Keeper-Cleveland events annually.
