A Walk in Her Shoes - Glenville- Year 1

On October 7, 2023, My Sister's Keeper-Cleveland brought A Walk in Her Shoes to GlenVillage, marking a new chapter for this impactful event. Held in partnership with Councilman Kevin Conwell and hosted by Tru North, the event saw an incredible turnout of 280 participants, reflecting the community's unwavering support for women impacted by cancer.

A highlight of the event was the mobile mammogram services offered by Seidman Cancer Center, providing participants with accessible and potentially life-saving screenings. This addition underscored the event’s commitment to promoting health awareness and early detection.

The day featured the symbolic walk led by the John Hay Cheerleaders, inspiring survivor testimonials (from warriors), and an array of resources aimed at fostering awareness and support. With Councilman Conwell’s backing and Tru North’s generous hosting, the event created a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that left a lasting impact.

The outstanding success of the event earned My Sister’s Keeper-Cleveland the prestigious City of Cleveland Champions Award, presented by Mayor Justin Bibb and Councilman Kevin Conwell. This recognition highlighted the organization's dedication to empowering women undergoing cancer treatment and the event's role in fostering community resilience and health awareness.

The 2023 A Walk in Her Shoes at GlenVillage not only marked a milestone in participation but also solidified My Sister's Keeper-Cleveland’s impact as a leading advocate for women’s health and wellness in the community.
