Makell Baccus currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (Executive Board Secretary) for My Sister's Keeper Cleveland, where she plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission to provide a supportive community for women undergoing cancer treatment. With over 19 years of experience in leadership roles within the social services sector, Makell brings extensive expertise in organizational management, strategic planning, and policy development.

As CAO, Makell is responsible for aligning My Sister's Keeper's strategic initiatives with its mission, motivating teams and external partners toward common goals, and ensuring the smooth administration of the organization’s activities. She oversees staff, volunteers, and interns, while implementing policies and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Her leadership fosters a supportive and efficient environment, vital to achieving the organization's goals.

In her role as Board Secretary, Makell ensures effective communication between the Executive Board and the Board of Directors, preparing meeting agendas, organizing meetings, and maintaining formal agreements. Her attention to detail and organizational skills help keep the board’s initiatives on track.

Makell holds a Master's degree in Leadership Development from Wright State University and has a wealth of experience in social program management, having served as Deputy Assistant Director and Social Program Manager for Montgomery County’s Family Assistance Division. Her leadership and passion for driving positive change make her an invaluable asset to My Sister's Keeper.
